Embassy Holds 44th Anniversary of the Islamic Revolution of Iran

The National Day ceremony and commemoration of the 44th anniversary of the glorious victory of the Islamic Revolution was held with the participation of ambassadors, diplomats, Heads of Missions and representatives of international organizations, a number of Swiss military and governmental officials including representatives of the Federal Departments of Foreign Affairs as well as Economic Affairs, Education and research; military attaches of countries, representatives of private sector of Switzerland in economic, cultural and tourism fields, and also a number of resident Iranians, was held in Bern.

In the name of God
Dear guests, Excellencies, Ladies and gentlemen
First and foremost, I would like to express my gratitude to the governmental and military officials of Switzerland, particularly, the officials of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs, ambassadors, diplomats, military attaches, political, economic, cultural, academic and scientific figures and also dear Iranians participating at the ceremony of the 44th anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution of Iran.
In 1979, one of the most popular revolutions of the 20th century took place. A revolution that with the presence and participation of the people in the social and political arenas and under the leadership of Imam Khomeini (RA), was able to remove the autocratic and foreign-dependent royal regime from Iran's political scene and bring about a system based on religious democracy for the Iranian society. Therefore, for more than four decades, the Iranians have played a key role in determining their political-social destiny through democratic mechanisms.
From the very first days of the victory of the revolution, the sworn enemies of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and mainly the United States, have been seeking the overthrow of the glorious Islamic revolution. All these years, the enemies resorted to instruments such as coup, imposed war, terror, cruel sanctions, economic terrorism and maximum pressure. Additionally, in recent months and on a vain pretext, they aimed at the country’s security and its matchless stability by resorting to a combined full-scale war and intended to fulfill their evil plan through creating chaos and killing project. However, with the grace of God and the wise management and guidelines of the Supreme Leader and the strong will and vigilance of the Iranian people, this great sedition also failed shamefully and heavily.
At the same time, on the occasion of the anniversary of the glorious victory of the Islamic Revolution, following the proposal of the honorable head of the country's judiciary and with the agreement of the wise leader of the Islamic Revolution, a significant number of convicts and defendants arrested during the recent riots, particularly the youth who made mistakes due to the incitement and propaganda of the enemies, were pardoned and released.
With the support of the brave nation of Iran, despite all types of pressures and conspiracies, the government has obtained significant achievements in various fields, including self-sufficiency in the production of agricultural and industrial products and substantial progress in nanotechnology, stem cells, cloning, treatment of infertility, manufacturing corona vaccine, production of geothermal energy and high-power lasers, setting up refineries, large oil and gas as well as petrochemical factories, remarkable advancements in the aerospace sector and production of related sciences, designing, construction and launching satellites, manufacturing defense equipment, peaceful nuclear energy, etc. and has thus, gained significant world rankings. In fact, with an 11-fold increase in scientific growth rate, Iran was able to garner second place in science publication and the first place in scientific acceleration on global scale.
The successful presence of the Iranian women after the victory of the Islamic Revolution in various fields, including political, economic, scientific, academic and sports, especially in the fields of medicine and technology, is the proof that they play a positive and significant role in the Islamic society of Iran.
The Islamic Republic of Iran proved that despite all the cruel pressures and sanctions, it can turn threats into opportunities and at the same time, continue its progress in all fields with increasing strength.
Based on the principles and values of the Islamic Revolution, the foreign policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran has ever been the herald of peace, security, justice, friendship, human rights, independence, freedom, fighting terrorism and foreign domination in the international arena.
In order to preserve and maintain the unique values of the Islamic Revolution and offer maximum benefits to the great nation of Iran, The popular government of Dr. Seyed Ebrahim Raisi, the honorable President of the Islamic Republic of Iran has adopted transformative programs along with a balanced foreign policy, dynamic diplomacy and intelligent interaction which emphasize on the principles of honor, wisdom and expediency, with its priorities set on the expansion of foreign relations with the Asian and friendly countries, particularly neighbors. At the same time, the Islamic Republic of Iran is determined to expand its balanced and well relations with other countries, including those in Africa, Latin America and Europe.
The relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Switzerland date back to more than a century.
Immediately after the victory of the Islamic Revolution, Switzerland officially recognized the government. In recent years, the high-ranking officials of the two countries including presidents, speakers of parliament and ministers of foreign affairs, have made numerous trips to each other's countries and in order to develop and strengthen relations, they have signed several documents and agreements for cooperation in many areas including politics, economy, agriculture, health, transport as well as science and research.
Switzerland is one of Iran's important business partners in Europe. The economic relations between the two countries are significant, especially in the field of food and medicine trade. The bilateral interactions in the framework of Switzerland's role as protective power for the interests of the third countries is also exemplary.
However, many of the existing potentials are still intact. Proper utilization of these assets can bring about a remarkable improvement in the bilateral relations.
Thanks God, despite all enmities and ill-wishes, we are celebrating the 44th anniversary of the victory of our revolution with great honor. Trusting in the Almighty God, this revolution and the system that arose from the will of our great and brave nation, goes on its path of seeking justice and every day, it treads its decent path towards progress as well as the creation of a new Islamic civilization stronger than the day before.
On this great day, we honor the memory of all dear veterans and martyrs of the Islamic Revolution, especially the commander of the hearts, martyr Lieutenant Hajj Qasim Soleimani and the Imam of the Martyrs, and we ask God Almighty to bestow mercy upon the.
I would also like to avail myself of this opportunity to express my sincere condolences to the government and people of the friendly and brother countries of Syria and Turkey, as well as to the families of the victims of the catastrophic earthquake, and I pray to the Almighty God for the immediate recovery of the injured.
Once again, I would like to express my gratitude to you for participation in this event.
